Fence Permit Requirements in Beverly Hills, MI.

Design and Height Requirements

• Fences in Beverly Hills can be installed using any common type of fence including: vinyl, aluminum, wood, and chain link. However, chain link is only permitted in rear yards.
• A fence in a rear yard shall not exceed four (4) feet in height above grade and shall not extend toward the front of the lot farther than the rear of the house, except a fence may extend into the side yard only to enclose the side door entrance.
• Fences up to six (6) feet in height and/or up to 100% solid vertical surface area are permitted subject to Administrative or Planning Commission approval as follows.
• All fences must be installed with the finished side, also called the good side, of the fence facing adjacent neighbors. This pertains mostly to wood and chain link fences.

Location Requirements

• Beverly Hills is straight forward when it comes to the required location of fence being installed. For the most part, your fence cannot extend beyond the front face of your house and can only be installed within your rear and side yards.
